Who are we ?

Le Centre

The Centre de Français Langue Étrangère (CFLE) is part of the University of Poitiers (23 000 students), one of the oldest universities in France.
The CFLE is located in the Department of Literature and Languages (UFR Lettres et Langues), in the northern area of the campus. The CFLE was created in 1977 but French as a foreign language has been taught here since 1955.

About 700 students altogether attend our courses every year. Therefore, the CFLE is the ideal size to allow a privileged relationship between students and teachers.

The CFLE is a member of the Association Des Centres Universitaires d’Études Françaises pour Étrangers (ADCUEFE), accepting and implementing its standards of quality.

The staff

Our teachers all have a long experience of teaching French as a foreign language and are used to team work.
