Presentation

The CFLE is a TCF test center acknowledged by “France Éducation International” (FEI).

The TCF allows anyone (student or not) to evaluate their skills in French. The results reliably position candidates at one of the six levels of the Council of Europe’s scale : CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

The marks are valid for 2 years from the date on which you took the test. The TCF is a certification, so you cannot fail.

Following the promulgation of Law no. 2024-42 of January 26, 2024, the new government requirements for proficiency in French are evolving and will be applied by the authorities by January 1, 2026 at the latest:

  • Naturalization: a B2 level will be required
  • Resident permit: level B1 will be required
  • Multi-annual residence permit: A2 level now required.
