In order to rent a property in France, it is very often required to have a “garant” or a person who stands as a “caution“. This person undertakes to pay the rent in the event of unpaid charges or rent. This is an additional security for the owner.
However, it is often required that the guarantor has a salary 2 or 3 times higher than the amount of the rent and/or that he or she lives and pays taxes in France.
If you do not have a guarantor and you are between 18 and 30 years old:

Visale is a service created and managed by the Action Logement group that will allow you to benefit from a rental guarantee.
Student Residence Room
From 155 to 500 € depending on the residence (indicative price per month).
Housing requests for foreign students must be submitted online from mid-July to the CROUS.
To do this, you must create an account on Mes services etudiants, complete the housing request (DSE: Dossier Social Etudiant) online from mid-July (for housing from September).
You will need to send your CFLE pre-registration certificate and a rental guarantee (see above) for your housing request.
The file is studied according to the places available and your financial resources.
Important: It is very difficult to obtain a reservation from abroad but it is sometimes possible to obtain a room once you are in France.
Students can get a room in a university residence during summer courses.

From 300 to 400 € (indicative prices per month for a room).
